Automatic Dispensing made easy - Fine Dispensing with the DOTLINER

Wessling, August 2015. The trend towards increasingly small structures and integration of functionality in PCBs is challenging for dispensing systems.

Besides reliable dosing of small dots the processing of various materials using one and the same machine is an important requirement of the industry. MARTIN GmbH presents their fundamentally revised dispenser DOTLINER 07. In addition to the mechanical innovations we launch the new operating software EASY DISPENSE Pro.

The MARTIN desktop dispensing robot of the DOTLINER family popular in prototyping and small series production was revised mechanically. Newly, the dispensing technology and control electronics are integrated in the device housing. The complete media transfer (pneumatic and electric) is clearly arranged on the rear side of the device. Therefore, an activating electronics above the appliance is no longer needed. During the technical revision process we integrated an autofocus USB color camera with zoom function and improved the XYZ stepper motor control. In the future, the axes can be positioned with up to four times higher resolution (6 µm/step). To implement the higher position resolution reliable in application, drive belts are installed in the XY axes with increased pre-tension. The heated nozzle carrier allows heating of the material directly at the dispensing nozzle to up to 50°C (122°F). Thus, optimum material viscosity setting is possible for any application. A cooling module is available as an option, for cooling the material inside the cartridge below ambient temperature. 

Communication between PC and dispensing robot takes place via a single USB cable. Now the EASY DISPENSE Pro computer software in Windows 7® look&feel is available and allows well-arranged work with the machine.  Many features of the new software, such as QR and barcode scan and creation, an inspection module for verification of the dispensing results or automatic creation of job reports leave nothing to be desired by the user.  And even production data created by the previous version of EASY DISPENSE Pro are 100% compatible so you can continue using them with the new DOTLINER 07 without difficulty. To dispense structures with the DOTLINER 07 without complex teaching you can use the provided CAM DESIGNER to create dispense data from PCB layouts. All you need for this is the layout file in Gerber format. 
MARTIN GmbH as a supplier of dispensing technology for the production of electronics provides a wide range of, inter alia, easy to dose solder pastes and dispensing nozzles. With this, process-reliable production of solder paste dots with diameters ranging from 200µm to 800µm is possible. Also SMD adhesive of comparable size can be dispensed. What is particular about the DOTLINER 07 is that, regardless of whether liquid or paste-like materials are dispensed, no retrofitting of the device is required. 

The DOTLINER 07 and the EASY DISPENSE Pro are available immediately with the features mentioned above. However, retrofitting existing systems and equipment may also be worth considering – let us talk about it!
