MARTIN Process Dispenser - now even simpler and with higher precision |
Press release 3/2005 |
Everything about dispensing that has been imperfect in terms of precision and consistency has now, according to the manufacturers of the new MARTIN Clever-Dispens-04 and -05, been consigned to the past. To support their claim for well proven technology, MARTIN Rework + Dispens Technology has now released a view into their new machine (please see illustration).
| Super fast valves and clever control firmware ensure perfectly controlled dispensing processes. With this elaborate technology and MARTIN's constant drive for simple operating and little need for cleaning of the dispensing head, the unit can be used much more effectively. This does not only apply to conventional dot sizes, but also, in connection with Class 6 Solder Paste - proven by MARTIN over months of use -, for any sort of micro dot, down to a diameter of 0.15 mm. |
| The starting point for the development have been numerous observations and discussions with users at work, home and abroad. "The best suggestions to optimise our machines come from the workplace. Honest interest on our part produces fruitful dialogue, resulting very often in improved technology" according to Bernhard Martin on the occasion of the introduction of the new machines. "Particularly, further improvements in consistency of dispensing volumes and not to allow any disadvantages in cleaning to appear were the aims". The German Government in the framework of the "Mechatronic" project supported these developments. |
| At the centre of the demand for high precision stands the Advanced-Time-Pressure (ATP) method. This is supported by reliable electronics, five super fast valves and highly accurate temperature measurement. All support the automatic calculation and control of precisely appropriate pressure pulses to ensure absolutely constant dispense volumes. |
| As the size of dots reduces the more stringent are the demands on the equipment. This was one of the reasons for a 12 months application trial with Solder Paste Class 6, which, in extremely small volumes, practically can only be dispensed with micro nozzles and the Advanced-Time-Pressure Method. |
| Clever-Dispens-04 and -05 can be used in many applications. Solder paste is dispensed without separating. Rapid re-activation after interruptions: after just a few test dots, high precision is re-established without the need for repeated cleaning or cartridge changes. |
Adhesives, too, can be used without problems. The patented dispense head heating prevents 'stringing'. When dispensing thin potting compounds, for example, the ATP method of the Clever-Dispens-05 proves its worth. Cartridge fill levels are automatically determined by the pressure built up response and the required snuff back vacuum applied.
Manual dispensing benefits from a little more sophistication in the shape of the Thermo Pen.
| Optional modules can make all the difference in the acceptability of equipment for users: the Height Sensor, ensuring that uneven PCBs can be processed as easily as flat ones. Or the Cooling Module that can cool the medium by 10°C. MARTIN dispensers do not have to have any spindles or chambers etc cleaned. Cartridges can be replaced in seconds, blocked nozzles are rapidly flushed through with cleaning spray and consumables are immediately available from the MARTIN Online Service. |
