Company Background

Bernhard Martin started the company in 1982. While still studying for his engineering qualifications, he devised the first adhesive volume measurement device in Europe. Since then developments have progressed right up to a semi automatic rework station.
MARTIN GmbH, with 30 staff, is one of the leading suppliers of rework and dispensing equipment. What started in one room in an apartment has led in 2003 to a new purpose built, extremely energy efficient facility in the high tech industrial area of Wessling near Munich.

Elke Martin, educator by training, leads in the areas of HR and finance as shareholder and managing director. Bernhard Martin is responsible for product development and marketing.

The Team

Focused development in the fields of rework and dispensing over 25 years has resulted in MARTIN GmbH becoming known around the world. In 2006 MARTIN achieved, with 30 staff, a turnover of 4.0 Million Euros, one third in Germany, one third in the rest of Europe and USA and a further third in Asia.

25 Years MARTIN Technology

The founder of the company, Bernhard Martin, discovered a promising area of application in the burgeoning SMD technology and permanent miniaturisation of electronic components. He specialised at first in dispensing technology, started the company in 1982 while still beeing a student and opened new perspectives for the technology of small dots with the invention of an adhesive volume measuring device.

A few years later MARTIN GmbH developed a microprocessor controlled SMD Compact unit (DBL 01) for soldering, dispensing and the population of printed circuit boards: 1989 a novelty for SMD applications.

MARTIN reached a milestone for increased quality in the repair of PCBs in 1991 with the development of the innovative IR Underheater; not just a new product but also a key technology for the rework process!

With the introduction of Dot Liner in 1997 MARTIN set a new criterion in automatic dispensing of micro dots and lines - in terms of precision and cost effectiveness a significant step forward.

With the launch in 2005 of the new Auto Vision Expert 09.5 MARTIN set new standards.
After selling almost 1000 rework stations of the previous versions the new unit has developed into the world wide standard for rework and repair of mobile telephones.
